Short biography:

ImagePredrag J. Marković (1965, Belgrade) studied and received the Ph.D. degree in history in Belgrade, has been on the postgraduate studies in Berlin and Budapest. Authored several books and dozens of studies mostly in social history and history of culture and media in Serbian, English and German language. Except historiography, he is involved in translation, writing journalist texts and designing educational TV programmes. Employed as a scientific adviser at the Institute for Contemporary History, regular professor at FMC of the Singidunum University.



Courses:

History of Culture and Media (I year of primary studies)
The subject aims at offering a survey of development of society and culture in the modern world and influence that development has on the media. An attendant of the course should acquire basic knowledge on contemporary history of culture and media, comprehend the influence of history on the media image and the influence of media on history, and begin to apply historical findings in media work (reports, investigations, scenario for documentary).

History of Propaganda (II year of primary studies)

The course aims at familiarizing students with the basic facts from the history of propaganda, ways and genres of propaganda, the most significant propaganda themes in history, and especially with propaganda in today’s media. Attendants should recognize propaganda methods and messages in different contents, media and genre. They should learn to analyze those messages both in literature and everyday contact with media.
