International Summer School in Comparative Conflict Studies 20-27 June, 2010
The Center for Comparative Conflict Studies (CFCCS) at the Faculty of Media and Communications (FMK) is holding its first International Summer School in Comparative Conflict Studies this month. More than 40 student from 15 countries will take part in the summer school between June 20-27.
The Summer School is organized and directed by Dr. Orli Fridman.
Three classes are offered this year:
Managing Violent Pasts: The Case of Northern Ireland with Dr. Marie Breen-Smyth (Aberystwyth University, UK)
Dilemmas of National Minorities: The Case of the Palestinian Citizens of Israel with Dr. Abigail Jacobson (IDC, Israel)
After the Violence: The Break Up of Yugoslavia and its Consequences with Dr. Aleksandra (Sasha) Milicevic (University of North Florida, USA)
All classes are taught in English and are designed to provide students with an interactive learning experience utilizing frontal lectures and class discussions focusing on comparative conflict analysis of difference case studies.
